Wooo Hooo!! Someone from the Obama Administration finally called out Faux Noise!
I am delighted to see the White House finally hitting back at Fox News and the media. In my opinion, they are doing it in the right way: by throwing a spotlight on their tactics. A few days ago, Time magazine reported on a new White House strategy to, in the words of President Obama, “call ‘em out.” In the same article, White House communications director Anita Gunn commented that Fox News is “opinion journalism masquerading as news.” Earlier today, she amplified on those comments and signaled that President Obama will engage with Fox but on his own terms. With video.
This morning, Gunn explained to CNN’s Howard Kurtz her earlier comments and confirmed that Fox's partisanship is why President Obama declined to appear on Fox during a blitz of appearances on Sunday talk shows last month...

I have long opined that Faux Noise is the GOP Reichsministry of Propaganda. I’m glad the White House finally agrees!

Great post TC. I think Mud_Rake went wild over this too... I'll believe it when I begin to hear with consistancy. You have to realize, (meaning all of us) that a President needs to check his anger and remain detached... still; cluster Fox has WAY BEYOND and truly is no news organization. It's like a 24/7 Republican Hee-Haw...right?
Gwen, you make excellent sense to me.
They've finally uncovered the sausage machine.
Tall ho. The Fox!
I think Team Obama has always known the true nature of Fux News. They just refrained from saying so, in the interests of trying to develop of a civil relationship with Fux. Now it appears Team Obama has given up on that.
This isn't the first time the White House has hit back at some of their attackers.. it's just the first time they have done it quite so publicly. The last time they did it was on the White House blog.. I love it they are doing this. The President warned in his speech to the Joint Session, and I guess they didn't listen. Now maybe they will..
LOL, Ivan!
Stimson, it's about time, isn't it.
Annette, I agree. One of my chief criticisms of Obama is his pandering to the right. The only thing it will get him is grief from both the left and the right.
Gwen-Cluster FOX-LOL !
