Open Thread – 1/24/2010

Yesterday, I managed to catch up on comments and visits, but I’ll fall behind today.  This is the second highest holy day in the First Church of the Ellipsoid Orb: the Day of the Mysteries of Conferences.  Devotees, myself included, will spend several hours in rapt meditation upon Patriots, Jets, Saints and Vikings.  It promises to be a blissful occasion.

Today’s Jig Zone puzzle took me 5:17.  To do it, Click Here.  How did you do?

Here’s your cartoon:

Enjoy this holy day in observance of the Orb.

Careful, Mark. If you let him bless you too much, you may turn into a retarded racist.

RJ, I was actually in a church once where the preacher said that being black is the mark of Cain. After the service, in front of a large group of people, I asked him how that could be if all the survivors of the flood were descendent's of Shem, not Cain, as Noah was in Shem's lineage. He sputtered, changed the subject and beat a hasty retreat. Soon afterward a deacon informed me that I was no longer welcome there.

3:52 on the puzzle today.

You know, it is interesting that you put this cartoon up there today because I was in a semi-drunken stupor last night and I was going to comment on this.
Here is my sober thoughts on the matter. Haitians did not make a deal with the Devil, the European based Caucasians did. Proof? Well, what race has enjoyed the most financial and property growth? What race has done more to suppress, humiliate, or completely destroy other races? The Egyptians were amateurs. The Babylonians barely scratched the surface. Afterall, "The sun never sets on the British Empire." I think that at this point we can also say the same thing about the US military. What race runs the Military Industrial Complex? Hrm.

Now, if I were Satan, would I want to attract people to me or repel them from me? God, according to Christians (and I think all the other major religions, but don't quote me on that) has taken a "Hands Off" approach to us. He will not directly intercede with us (until the Apocolypse, but that is another discussion). But, the Devil does not abide by the same rule, or intentionally goes against it. Hence the success of the Caucasian race.

I do take some solice, though. "The meek shall inherit the Earth." "A camel can pass through the eye of a needle before a rich man gets to Heaven" "Judge not, lest ye be judged." I am hoping that Pat Robertson gets to see, and experience, one last quote: "Abandon all hope, all ye who enter here.", but that is not for me to decide.

Otis, that's excellent analysis. If nothing else, the GOP did in 2000. :-)

Lisa, it's been a long time, and I may have forgotten, but if memory serves that word refers to an act far to pleasurable to be wasted on Repuglicans.
